To be able to put sufficient current in the X and Y wires I built a simple full bridge amplifier:

(replaced the lm358 with an ne5532 for better frequency response).

which will receive a signal from my signal generator so that we can see the cores flip with a bit of luck.

To receive the signal from the sense wire I used another opamp with a 20x amplification so that I can amplify it before it goes to the oscilloscope.
